About the Sausalito Crab Festival
The Sausalito Crab Festival was created by SSWA in partnership with Fish Restaurant as a way to support and strengthen our local commercial fishing fleet, which has faced significant challenges in recent years. The festival was envisioned as a celebration that builds awareness, fosters community, and brings people together around fresh local crab, good food, and a shared love of the waterfront.
A group of local businesses stepped up to make the first year possible, including the Sausalito Boat Show, Clipper Yacht Harbor, H & M Marine, KKIM, Helmut’s Marine, and Love Marin. Thanks to their support and the enthusiasm of the community, the inaugural event was a huge success.
We look forward to continuing to grow the Sausalito Crab Festival into a yearly tradition that brings the community together for a day of great food, fun, and meaningful support for the working waterfront. By supporting local fishermen and waterfront businesses, we help ensure that Sausalito’s maritime culture remains vibrant and sustainable for generations to come.

About SSWA
The Sausalito Sustainable Waterfront Association (SSWA) is an alliance of civic-minded Sausalito residents and waterfront business owners whose work forms the backbone of the Marinship’s vibrant waterfront district. For generations, SSWA members have preserved and promoted the maritime services that support more than 2,000 boat slips across eight marinas.
Our community supports commercial fishing, fishing charters, sailors, family boaters, sailing schools, memorial charters, yacht sales, and kayak rentals. These maritime activities in turn sustain the small businesses that give the waterfront its character, including coffee shops, bars, restaurants, chandleries, artists and jewelers, dive companies, boat mechanics, canvas workers, pump-out services, hotels, and more.
We are the waterfront people who help shape the identity, economy, and community character of Sausalito, and we are committed to ensuring the working waterfront remains strong for generations to come.
